BES Families,
Report Card Pickup is on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, from 4:30-6:00pm. It will look a little different this year. Beginning at 4:30 PM, we invite families to pick up their child’s report card in the BES Cafeteria. After picking up report cards, families may head to their child’s classroom to meet with the teacher or stop by the Book Fair in the BES Library!
BES teachers will reach out by this Friday to families they would specifically like to meet with on October 13th. However, all families are welcome and encouraged to visit with their child’s teacher, even if you do not receive a specific request for a conference.
We look forward to seeing our BES families and celebrating our students’ progress!

Fall Break is October 5-9, 2026. We will welcome back students and staff on Monday, October 12, 2026.

Our 4th Grade Lotuses proudly presented their map projects, demonstrating their creativity and understanding of important map skills. From compass roses and map keys to titles and details, our students showed that learning can be both meaningful and fun!
There were so many amazing projects of neighborhoods, towns, rooms, and even our school!

A few reminders from BES (K-4th)
1. Parent Night is tonight(9/10)! K-1st begins in the BES Cafeteria at 4:30pm. 2nd-4th grade will also be in the BES Cafeteria for their presentation at 5:30pm.
2. Fall Photos are tomorrow(9/11). $5 per each 4x6 photo
3. Snack Cart is tomorrow(9/11). Items include juice, chips, pickles. Items are $1 each.
4. Grandparent's Day is tomorrow(9/11) in the BES cafeteria from 9-10am
We hope to see you later this afternoon!
Monday, October 12, 2026, will serve as a makeup day for the day missed after the storm(Aug. 24th).
October 12 was originally set to be a professional development day for teachers.
On Friday, September 11, 2026, we will also have a Fall Photo fundraiser to celebrate the upcoming Fall season. These 4x6 photos are $5 each. This is a separate event from Grandparent's Day. Students taking a Fall Photo may dress in school-appropriate fall clothing. We are not able to photograph siblings together. Thank you!
Grandparent's Day is next Friday, September 11. We look forward to enjoying a craft with grandparents in the BES cafeteria from 9-10am.

Grade Level Parent Night will take place on Thursday, September 10. K-1st grade will present in the BES cafeteria from 4:30-5:30pm. 2nd-4th will present from 5:30-6:30pm in the BES cafeteria. We hope to see you there!

Teachers and students got competitive in a robot race as Mr. Alex McClarty, an engineer from Isaac Chapel Rosenwald, introduces students to robotics and STEM careers through hands-on learning. 🤖🏁 Students explored how to control robots with an iPad while learning that creativity and the arts play an important role in engineering and innovation! 👩💻🧑💻📱

August 23, 2026—The Marshall County School District will be closed Monday, August 24, 2026 due to impacts from the recent storms. It is never an easy decision to close school, but given the large number of families and staff members without power, we feel it is the best option. School will resume Tuesday, August 25, 2026 and schools will work with the families of those who remain affected by power outages.
BES is partnering with BMS to collect non-perishable food items for the next two weeks. One boy and one girl from each grade will be selected to represent BES at the BMS homecoming celebrations. Letters will be sent home Monday! #LetsGrowBES
