For the first time since before the pandemic, we are having a Black History Program! One part of the program is going to be a community fashion where we showcase families and their children wearing fashion/attire of "The Culture" - whatever that means to you.
There are 15 spots available, so if you are interested in you AND your child(ren) participating in the fashion show, please email Mrs. Arkoh at brooklynarkoh@mcschools.us by Monday February 3 with the names of your family members who will walk in the fashion show. Note: You must be available on Wednesday, February 26 at 9:00 a.m. to participate in the show (please be on time).

BES will have a snack cart this Friday. It will be $3 for pickles or popcorn, juice, and candy. We will not take money until the time the cart comes around.
Congratulations to Ms. Whitmore’s 4th grade class for earning our BES T.C.C. PE Class of the week for 1-20/1-24. These students displayed the use of excellent social skills including “teamwork, communication, and cooperation” in their PE class this week. We are proud of these young people for being positive role models to other students. Keep up the good work 😊
Last week, students learned about honesty in Character Ed. Second, third, and fourth grade played a game called “Honesty Scoot,” where they had to go around the room determining if the different scenarios on the task cards were examples of honesty. #TEAMBES #MoveMarshall

Congratulations to Ms. McMillen’s 4th grade class for earning our BES T.C.C. PE Class of the Week for 1-13/1-17-2025. These students use of excellent social skills during their class enabled them to have a safe and fun class. They displayed great teamwork, communication skills, and cooperation skills while interacting with others. Keep being good role models for our other BES students 😊
Due to the frigid temperatures we are experiencing, students will be allowed to dress out of uniform in warmer clothes for the remainder of the week (through Friday, January 24, 2025). No jeans with holes or leggings will be allowed.
We are thrilled to kickoff the 2nd half of the year with our students still celebrating our “B rating” with a Schoolwide Boogie! We will have a brief hallway boogie on Friday, January 24, 2025. We invite students to dress out in cowboy attire on Friday.
BES will be closed on Monday, January 20, 2025, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Due to some icy spots on Marshall County back streets, the Marshall County School District will begin School on Monday, January 13, 2025 on a 2-hour delayed start.
Due to inclement weather, Marshall County Schools will be closed on Friday, January 10, 2025. Stay warm and safe! We will be monitoring road conditions for next week and make any closure announcements as soon as possible.

January 7, 2025: Due to the freezing temperatures, students will be allowed to wear jeans with a uniform shirt until Friday 1/10/25.
Our lost and found is full of coats and jackets. If your child has lost a coat or jacket this school year, please come to BES between 7-3:30 to check the lost and found. Due to the large number of items and limited space, those items collected before break will be donated after January 17th.

Congratulations to Ms. Lockler’s 3rd grade group for earning our BES T.C.C. PE Class of the Week for 12-7/12-13. The use of outstanding teamwork, communication skills, cooperation skills, and other positive social skills enabled these students to have an enjoyable and fulfilling PE class.

Greetings, Friday, December 20, 2024, is a 60% day for all BES students. Dismissal will begin approxmiately two hours earlier than usual. This means car riders and bus riders will begin dismissing at 12:30pm. We expect the campus to be clear shortly after 1pm. Please plan accordingly. Happy Holidays!
We had a blast at our Christmas Karaoke Jamboree AR Party! Students who met their AR goal with 80% accuracy were able to come and have hot chocolate, cookies, and sing Christmas Karaoke! A time was had, beautiful voices were heard! Congrats to all who went!
Reminders: Makeup yearbook photos for BES will be on Monday 12/16. We will also have Holiday Photos on Monday, $5 per 4x6. The Holiday Shoppe is also now open with items ranging from $1-$15. Christmas Programs are on 12/18. K-1st grade is at 9am. 2nd-4th grade is at 12:30pm. There is lots going on at BES next week!
