4 tables covered in pink table clothes, table numbers, flowers in vases, doilies as placemats, a program and complimentary tea

It's tea time here at Byhalia Elementary School.  Ms. Smith - 4th Grade teachers, Ms. Jones - 4th Grade Teacher, and Ms. Coleman - 2nd Grade teacher, sponsors of one of our after school clubs, Girls with P.e.a.r.l.s., hosted a beautiful Tea Party to celebrate their girls and their families, leadership, development, and self-confidence. The event took place after school and featured a gorgeous processional of the "pearls" (a nickname for the participants), a  presentation of charm school, a testimonial by our very own counselor's assistant Ms. Boxley, live musical entertainment by Mrs. Arkoh and Ms. Riley, and so much more. There was a vendor hour which featured small local businesses selling anything from jewelry (Mrs. Pegues and Paparazzi Jewelry) to candy covered grapes (T&JDesignz), and everything in between. There was an abundant spread of pastries, delicious treats, and of course tea!

We were lucky enough to have the privilege of hearing our very own mayor Weathers share with everyone as well. Suffice it to say that "Girls with P.e.a.r.l.s." has had a major impact on the students here at Byhalia Elementary School. We owe it to their dedicated sponsors for coming up with the idea and executing it beautifully. Due to their selfless nature and endless idea generation, they have truly made dreams  become a reality. There is greatness at BES amongst everyone - our students, their families, and our staff members and this a fabulous opportunity to celebrate that.
